What is dry needling?
Dry Needling is a therapy where tiny needles (similar to acupuncture needles) are inserted into a “knot” or “trigger point” in a muscle. Trigger points are area’s in the muscle where there is little or no blood circulating there, therefore causing pain, weakness, tightness and reduced mobility or flexibility.
When the thin needle enters the trigger point it opens that area so the blood can circulate again, therefore, promoting healing and regeneration in that area. This is not a painful therapy, it can be slightly uncomfortable for a second when the muscle is stimulated but 99% of the time the client will hardly feel the needling.
